Lady in Red

Photo © Copyright 2010 Jim Nee. All Rights Reserved. This may not look like much —in fact, it isn’t— but this old chair provides the first opportunity I’ve had in years for a solitary corner of the house in which to read or just sit… alone. I’m elated.

Pretty small by today’s standards —the seat is only 16” off the floor— she almost looks like something I’d have found in the basement of my grandmother’s house. But she’s comfy. And really RED! Love it. 

$14 USD at the thrift store. What a find! Once she’s steam cleaned she’ll be ready to roll, or hold as the case may be.

Our neighbor’s house caught on fire this afternoon. L happened to be home from Liturgy, recovering from a stomach bug, when she smelled the smoke and heard the commotion next door, and called 911. Thankfully, no one was hurt and our house sustained only minimal smoke damage. The neighbor’s house is gutted.
