It's very quiet this morning

It’s very quiet this morning.

I felt the need to get up and get back into my more typical routine.  So, I dragged my body out of bed and said my morning prayers.  Then it was 25 minutes on the stepper followed by 5 minutes of crunches and arm exercises.  The 25 minutes on the stepper wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.  I haven’t exercised for 2 weeks owing to illness, etc., and I thought I might have to shorten the time, but apparently my aging body is more resilient than I thought it was.  Everyone else is still in bed…a rarity.

Today is the last day of 2007.  We were invited out to a party but couldn’t find a sitter, so we’re having a family game night here.  I bought some sparkling cider for the kids and we’ll have hors ‘d oeuvres for dinner, something we often did as a family when I was growing up (often while watching an SEC football game).

I’m wondering if I should reflect on all that 2007 brought.  I’m not feeling very reflective, mostly just wondering what 2008 will bring.  I’m sure 2007 was filled with hidden blessings and that our guardian angels were kept busy.  I hope those hidden blessings will be revealed to me in the fullness of time and that my eyes will be a little more open to them in ‘08.  As I said to a friend the other evening, often, we aren’t always aware that a blessing is a blessing when it comes our way.

Blessings to you!
